Riding Outside the lines

The 2nd book my Joe "The Metal Cowboy"Kurmaskie. More adventures brought on by riding his bike all over creation and then some. Once again Joe has made me start think about my own biking adventures and where to ride next. That's a good thing.  For more on Joe...  www.metalcowboy.com

Long Way Down

The 2nd Motorcycle  adventure book by Obi Wan and his good buddy Whining Charley. This time they start in Scotland and end up in Cape Town,South Africa . Quite a trip. I saw the DVD and it was really cool. Plenty of wild animal sightings and hanging out with the Natives. One cool part was when Ewan's Wife rode along for a week or so. She had a few off the bike experiences but handled it well.

A Bold,Fresh Piece of Humanity

Pretty much everyone know Bill O'reily, or knows of him. I listen to him occasionally and agree with most of his opinions , but he comes across as arrogant. The book is about his growing up years and was a good read. I may like him a bit more after reading this than i did 2 days ago. A lot of funny stories about him and his hooligan buddies tormenting the nun's at his school. I probably won't read his other books ( maybe his novel) but i enjoyed this.

The Metal Cowboy

I really liked this book because i'm always up for some kind of adventure. This includes a lot of short stories of Joe's adventures and the people he has met. So if your into bikes and adventure check it out.

Christ The Lord-Out of Egypt

Really good book. Interesting too. Anne has done a lot of research about what it would have been like while Jesus was growing up and it shows. Recommended reading for sure.

Two Wheels North

This was a great book about 2 young guys who in 1909 rode and pushed their bikes from Santa Rosa,Ca to Seattle Wa and the Worlds Fair. The Roads we're bad but the adventure was great. One of the cool things was that they rode through places i have been or go on a regular basis. Makes me want to go on another adventure.

The Rouge Warrior

Richard Marcinko was Navy SEAL in Vietnam and I'm glad he was on our side.

This book reads like a fast paced novel ala Tom Clancy but it's all his experiences.
Crazy stuff. Seems to me that if we sent guys like this after the terrorists, with no rules, we'd solve a lot of the terrorist problems.

Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer

This is a depressing story about a young guy named Christopher McCandless who abandons his possessions, gives his entire $24,000 savings account to charity and hitchhikes to Alaska to live in the wilderness. Definitely not the average college student. Just didn't want the typical life. I can relate to that. So he travels for like 2 years and ends up dead in Alaska. He wasn't suicidal or anything just not as prepared enough. You need more than rice and a .22 rifle to survive. It's a movie too but i fell asleep. I think we started it to late. A good sobering read and I'll read it again this winter when the weather is cold, wet and depressing

Long Way Round

I just finished this book the other day and it was a good read. Ewan Macgregor ( Obi wan) and his good buddy Charlie rode their motor bikes around the world. I guess they're into motorcycles like I'm into Bicycles, but i don't want to ride around the world. Maybe the Colorado trail someday. Anywhoo...they have a amazing amounts of adventures and meet interesting people all along the way. Apparently this is also some sort of tv thing in England so i think it's on DVD but i have not seen it yet. I got It from the library but i think I'll buy it 'cause I'll read it again.

Jim Morrison-Life ,Death, Legend

This book was about the life and death of Jim Morrison, vocalist of the Doors. Groundbreaking at the time, great voice , interesting lyrics but in a nutshell he was a fool who was dead by age 27. Made me feel like a million bucks.
