Two Wheels North

This was a great book about 2 young guys who in 1909 rode and pushed their bikes from Santa Rosa,Ca to Seattle Wa and the Worlds Fair. The Roads we're bad but the adventure was great. One of the cool things was that they rode through places i have been or go on a regular basis. Makes me want to go on another adventure.

The Rouge Warrior

Richard Marcinko was Navy SEAL in Vietnam and I'm glad he was on our side.

This book reads like a fast paced novel ala Tom Clancy but it's all his experiences.
Crazy stuff. Seems to me that if we sent guys like this after the terrorists, with no rules, we'd solve a lot of the terrorist problems.

Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer

This is a depressing story about a young guy named Christopher McCandless who abandons his possessions, gives his entire $24,000 savings account to charity and hitchhikes to Alaska to live in the wilderness. Definitely not the average college student. Just didn't want the typical life. I can relate to that. So he travels for like 2 years and ends up dead in Alaska. He wasn't suicidal or anything just not as prepared enough. You need more than rice and a .22 rifle to survive. It's a movie too but i fell asleep. I think we started it to late. A good sobering read and I'll read it again this winter when the weather is cold, wet and depressing

Long Way Round

I just finished this book the other day and it was a good read. Ewan Macgregor ( Obi wan) and his good buddy Charlie rode their motor bikes around the world. I guess they're into motorcycles like I'm into Bicycles, but i don't want to ride around the world. Maybe the Colorado trail someday. Anywhoo...they have a amazing amounts of adventures and meet interesting people all along the way. Apparently this is also some sort of tv thing in England so i think it's on DVD but i have not seen it yet. I got It from the library but i think I'll buy it 'cause I'll read it again.

Jim Morrison-Life ,Death, Legend

This book was about the life and death of Jim Morrison, vocalist of the Doors. Groundbreaking at the time, great voice , interesting lyrics but in a nutshell he was a fool who was dead by age 27. Made me feel like a million bucks.
